Come watch the sunset over the ocean in quiet Salisbury Cove! Just three minutes from the entrance of Acadia National Park and five minutes from downtown Bar Harbor, there are three cottages and a year round house for rent overlooking Eastern and Frenchman's Bay.
Our cottages each have one
bedroom, a living/dining room, a bathroom (shower only) and fully equipped
kitchen. They both have decks for watching the beautiful sunsets or simply
enjoying the sounds of the water on the pebble beach. Each cottage has a gas-log
fireplace, but no TV. One cottage is perched over the ocean (the Skiff,
formerly Waterfront) and the other, (the Rugosa, formerly Bird's Nest) is
nestled just back among the trees, while they both enjoy a view of the ocean.
We have added a new cottage to the property, the Chart House cottage! This cottage is larger than the Skiff or Rugosa cottages, with a queen bed in the downstairs bedroom, a double bed and a twin bed in the sleeping loft (accessible via a large rope ladder). This cottage welcomes pets, has a bright living room, a dining room, and a small kitchen. While this cottage does not have views of the water, it has the same access to the pebble beach the other cottages enjoy.
The Schooner House is available year-round and will remind
you of an old-fashion sailing ship. With its bowed front wall, you have an
amazing view of the bay. You can enjoy the deck in the front, looking out
to the ocean or the peaceful deck in the rear of the house, listening to the
woods.
The cottages are available, weekly, from late-May to the middle of October. The Schooner House is available year round. It can be rented weekly June to October and from mid- October to late May with a 3 night minimum. Families welcome, but non-smokers only please. Pets are also welcome in the Rugosa Cottage and the Schooner House. The Rugosa and Skiff cottages rates range from $550 - $795 a week (Sat. to Sat.), depending on when. The Schooner House rates go to $1750 per week. In the winter only (November to Mid-May), the rate for the Schooner is $150 per night (3 night min.).
